UK vehicle output rises year-on-year in August
Both passenger car and commercial vehicle output in the UK rose in August according to the latest data from national motor vehicle industry umbrella association SMMT monitored by Kallanish.
UK car production rose by 3.3% year-on-year in August, to 92,158 units, but this growth was unable to offset the substantial losses seen in April. Monthly output for the domestic market grew by 15.2% while exports remained stable, rising by just 0.6%.
