UK Steel welcomes safeguards, reiterates tariff exemption call
Trade association UK Steel has welcomed the European Commission’s imposition of provisional safeguard measures on steel imports, while reiterating calls for the UK government to secure an exemption from US tariffs.
UK Steel director Gareth Stace says the safeguard measures “…will shield UK Steel producers against a surge of imports as a result of President Trump’s unnecessary and unwelcome Section 232 tariffs.”
