UK manufacturing continues to stumble towards Brexit
The UK manufacturing purchasing managers’ Index (PMI) rose to a four-month high in September but still remained in a state of underperformance. New orders, output and employment all fell further. Purchasing and input stocks rose however as Brexit preparations restarted, according to the latest IHS Markit/CIPS survey monitored by Kallanish.
