UK construction activity flattens as new work declines
Activity in the UK construction sector remains flat according to the latest Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)/Markit construction purchasing managers index (PMI) for May monitored by Kallanish. A marginal overall rise in business activity failed to offset a decline in incoming new work and stagnation in input buying.
