UK commercial construction segment slump continues
Activity fell for the third month in a row in the UK construction sector, according to the latest IHS Markit/Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) survey monitored by Kallanish. There was a sharp fall in new work and purchasing activity during July, whilst business optimism slid to its lowest since November 2012, Markit/CIPS says. The steel-intensive commercial sector is being particularly hard-hit.
