UK announces new sanctions on Russian steelmakers, others
The UK has sanctioned 86 individuals and organisations connected to Russia's energy, metals, defence, transport, and financial sectors, according to a press release from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's office on 19 May.
This move aims to ramp up pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remaining revenue and counter attempts to use these sectors in support of the military machine, according to the announcement.
