UAW secures contract extension with US automakers
The United Autoworkers (UAW) were still negotiating with automaker Fiat Chrysler as of close-of-business Tuesday, Kallanish understands.
Fiat, acting as the lead negotiator for fellow “Big Three” automakers Ford and General Motors, agreed to extend the UAW’s previous contract on an hour-by-hour basis.
The contract, originally inked in 2011, expired on September 14.
