UAW-GM labour deal still uncertain after early voting
Early voting over the weekend on the proposed labour deal between Big Three US automaker General Motors (GM) and the United Autoworkers (UAW) provided no clear direction for the deal’s fate, Kallanish understands.
UAW Local 31 in Kansas City, Kansas, turned the contract down, while UAW Local 652 in Lansing, Michigan, accepted the contract. The two locals represent about 8% of the union’s total membership.
