UAW gears up for fight with Big Three
Auto observers expect the next round of labour negotiations between the United Auto Workers and the Detroit “Big Three” to be contentious, at best, Kallanish understands.
The union is asking its local chapters to hold strike authorisation votes, with the results due by 29 August – the day before the Labour Day holiday.
The union’s contracts with Big Three members General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chyrsler Automobiles end on 14 September.
