UAW and Fiat avert US strike
The United Autoworkers labour union reached a last-gasp tentative deal late Wednesday with lead Big Three negotiator Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles, Kallanish understands from a union update.
The UAW has been working under the terms of an expired contract since 14 September. The union notified FCA earlier this week of its intention to strike when the contract extension expired just before midnight 7 October.
