UAE's Dana Steel readies cold rolling mill installation
Dubai-based hot-dip galvanized coil producer Dana Steel Industry has received its new cold rolling mill, Kallanish learns.
The single-stand 4hi reversible cold rolling mill has an annual capacity of 400,000 tonnes/year and was supplied by Japanese company Hitachi.
After Ramadan, foundation and civil works will commence, with the installation expected to be completed by the end of 2022. Test runs and early production are scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2023.
"This is our natural growth trajectory, as next phase capital expenditure, while we are open for both organic and inorganic growth options within the industry," Dana Steel vice president marketing Iqbal Azim tells Kallanish.
"In today's competitive business environment and volatile markets, buyers prefer to deal with companies offering a wide range of product solutions. We are committed to growing production along with various product ranges and are dedicated to being a preferred and recommended company, with high-quality products in our portfolio."
Dana Steel formally opened its hot-dip galvanizing line (CGL) in June 2021, after commissioning colour-coating (CCL) lines at Dubai Industrial City in mid-2019. The firm has four coil service centres, as well as steel profiling and sandwich panel units in United Arab Emirates.
