Turkish wire rod exports rebound in July
Turkish wire rod exports surged 127% on-year in July to 104,443 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average price was $589.7/t versus $446.6/t in the year-earlier month.
Exports of round rod below 14mm diameter comprised 80,269t. The Netherlands and Belgium were the main markets, taking in 21,000t and 14,850t respectively versus zero each in July 2017. Third came Lebanon with 7,497t versus zero last year.
