Turkish US-origin scrap sourcing plummets in July
Turkish scrap imports declined -6% on-year in July to 1.91 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average value was $352.4/tonne versus $276.7/t a year earlier.
Almost 98%, or 1.87mt, of the July imports were obsolete scrap. The UK was by far the largest supplier with 368,085t, up 6% on-year. This was followed by Russia with 270,963t, down -1%, and the Netherlands with 206,163t, up 41%. The …
