Turkish steelmakers increase rebar further on surging scrap
Turkish steelmakers Kardemir and Icdas have further hiked rebar prices for the domestic market as the surge in scrap prices – driven by higher Chinese steel prices – continued this week, Kallanish learns.
Kardemir raised its 12-32mm diameter rebar price by TRY 82/tonne ($29) to TRY 1,370/t ($485), and its 12-22m round bar by the same amount to TRY 1,387/t from its previous, 12-April price list.
