Turkish steelmakers criticise amended thermal coal import tax

The Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD) says the newly-amended tax on coal imports for power generation in Turkey will artificially raise prices and increase risk for power producers. If the aim is to increase locally-made coal consumption, it would be more appropriate to promote domestic coal use and production, or at least reduce the coal price limit to "... more reasonable levels."
