Turkish steel output falls again, but rebounds on-month
Turkish crude steel production fell -11.7% on-year in March to 2.99 million tonnes, although this was up 13.3% from February, according to the Turkish Steel Producers Association (TCUD). Electric arc furnace-based output declined -16.6%, but blast furnace route production rose 0.5%.
In the first quarter Turkish crude steel output thus fell -14.5% on-year to 8.19mt. EAF output was down -20% to 5.3mt and BF production declined -2.2% to 2.89mt.
