Turkish scrap activity remains poor after holiday
Turkey’s scrap market has had a weak start after the long Feast of Sacrifice holiday.
Although some steelmakers were back from holiday on Thursday, most have extended the holiday to the whole week and are currently conducting maintenance.
Scrap suppliers’ and Turkish mills' post-holiday price expectations are seen diverging. While merchants are targeting higher values, mills expect scrap prices to soften.
