Turkish rod exports grow despite US, Israel slump
Turkish wire rod exports increased 29% on-year in May to 164,870 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Exports of round rod below 14mm diameter formed the bulk of this tonnage at 120,840t. Shipments of this product to the US fell to zero in May versus 31,692t in May 2017. Exports to Israel fell -37% to 10,568t.
