Turkish longs/semis exports decline, imports surge in May
Turkish flat steel exports rose 9.1% on-year in May, but longs shipments abroad fell -3% and semi-finished product exports slumped -50%, according to the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD). Imports of both flats and longs rose that month.
Flats exports grew to 495,500 tonnes, while longs shipments fell to 731,000t and semis exports slumped to 39,500t, according to TCUD data seen by Kallanish.
