Turkish domestic scrap remains stable as import hike
Turkish mills have kept their domestic scrap buying prices unchanged since last week, although imported scrap values have risen, Kallanish notes.
Turkish mills have accelerated imported scrap purchases this week, as expected.
Although mills tried to push scrap prices below $380/tonne cfr Turkey, they failed to achieve this. On the contrary, they have been forced to pay slightly higher for imported scrap as suppliers stayed firm.
