Turkish domestic scrap prices stable, imports soften
All Turkish steelmakers have kept their domestic scrap buying prices unchanged since last week, Kallanish observes.
Domestic scrap prices, however, declined in dollar terms due to the fast depreciation of the lira this week. The lira, which was at 7.47 per dollar a week ago, stood at 7.68 on Wednesday. As the dollar also strengthened to 1.16 per euro on Wednesday, European suppliers have more flexibility to reduce prices.
