Turkish domestic scrap remains stable despite cheaper imports
Most electric arc-furnace based Turkish steelmakers have kept their domestic scrap buying prices stable this week, while Erdemir has decreased and Kardemir increased, Kallanish notes.
Despite the decline in imported scrap prices, Kardemir, which is dependent on domestic supply, has been forced to increase its buying prices in order to take a higher share from domestic scrap supply to meet its requirement.
