Turkish domestic scrap rises, imports consolidate above $500
Turkish mills have increased domestic scrap buying prices since last week amid the sharp rise seen in imported scrap prices, Kallanish notes.
Two imported scrap bookings were heard on Wednesday. A long steel mill is heard to have concluded a booking from the EU comprising 35,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20 at $493.5/tonne and 7,000t of bonus at $513.5/t cfr Turkey.
