Turkish mills look to domestic scrap amid uptrend
All Turkish steelmakers have further increased their domestic scrap buying prices since last week as imported scrap prices have also continued rising, Kallanish observes.
After booking imported scrap cargoes at higher prices on Monday, Turkish mills remained mostly out of the market on Tuesday and Wednesday as they find current imported scrap prices too high. Mills have instead directed their scrap purchases to the domestic market.
