Turkish domestic scrap remains flat despite costlier imports
Turkish mills are keeping their domestic scrap buying prices unchanged this week despite the rises seen in imported scrap values since the beginning of the year, Kallanish notes. Domestic values are softening on a USD basis as the lira continues to depreciate against the dollar.
Business activity in the domestic market remains moderate, while demand for imported scrap continues. Some deep-sea bookings were heard on Tuesday after market close.
