Turkish domestic scrap falls despite firm imports
Some Turkish mills have decreased their domestic scrap buying prices since last week despite the acceleration of the lira weakening versus the dollar and firm imported scrap values, Kallanish notes.
No fresh deal has been heard so far in the market this week. Although sentiment has improved following the rebound in the Chinese market at the beginning of the week, Turkish mills are pushing for scrap prices below $380/tonne cfr Turkey due to weak steel sales.
