Europe, Asia rescue Turkish rebar exports in January
Turkish rebar exporters offset the continued drop in shipments to Middle East/North Africa and the US with increased exports to East Asia and Europe in January, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish statistical data.
January's rebar exports slipped -3.2% on-year to 554,917 tonnes. Their overall average value/tonne increased to $529/t from $426/t a year earlier, show calculations made using Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
