Turkey's January HR flats exports to Europe surge
A surge in shipments to Europe boosted Turkish hot-rolled (HR) flat steel exports in year-on-year terms in January, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
Total HR flats exports from Turkey soared 80% y-o-y to 225,116 tonnes in January. The overall average value/tonne of these exports rose to $590/t from $488/t a year ago.
