Turkish flats output surges, longs falls in January-February
Turkey's finished steel production increased year-on-year in the first two months of the year, while consumption declined, says the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
January-February's finished steel output rose 2.9% y-o-y to 6.1 million tonnes, driven by a 26.1% increase in flat steel output to 2.14mt. Long steel production for the period fell -6.6% to 3.9mt, the association says in a statement seen by Kallanish.
