Turkey's 2016 flat steel imports/exports hit record high
Turkish flat steel imports and exports reached record high volumes in 2016, according to the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
Imports of flat steel rose 0.7% to the record volume of 8.67 million tonnes last year. Flats exports meanwhile grew 21% to 3.08mt, topping the 3mt threshold for the first time, Sahap Ataman, economic affairs director at the association, says in a report seen by Kallanish.
