Turkey produces record crude steel volume in 2017
Turkish crude steel production grew 13.1% on-year to 37.5 million tonnes in 2017, according to the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). This is the highest ever annual volume produced in the country, notes Kallanish.
Scrap-based crude steel production increased 18.8% to 25.9mt, while iron ore-based production rose 2.2% to 11.5mt last year, the TCUD says in a statement.
