Turkey exports slab to Italy in April
Turkey exported 30,289 tonnes of slab to Italy in April, at an average price of $587/tonne, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
In February, Turkey exported around 1,062t of slab to Algeria, at $628/t.
While Turkey's steel slab exports are not unprecedented – having exported 67,815t to France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and others in 2021 – exports in 2022 and 2023 were almost non-existent.
