Turkish HBI imports in March slow to trickle
Turkey imported 9,099 tonnes of direct reduced iron/hot-briquetted iron in March at an average price of $386/tonne, down 89% on-year, based on Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
This was also down 84% compared to Turkey’s HBI imports in February at 58,451t. It marks a substantially lower tonnage than average monthly intake of 49,843t in 2023.
