Tsingshan commissions another two rotary kiln furnaces
Chinese stainless producer Tsingshan Steel fired up two rotary kiln electric arc furnaces (RKEF) last week in its Weda Bay Industrial Park developed with French miner Eramet. It expects to see official production start in March, Kallanish notes.
The two 42,000kVA RKEFs are estimated to increase nickel pig iron (NPI) output by around 1,800 tonnes/month. For the whole project, Tsingshan intends to commission 12 RKEFs in the industrial park.
