Tsingshan commissions two RKEFs
China’s Tsingshan commissioned its new No.31 and No.32 rotary kiln electric arc furnaces (RKEF), over 15-16 January, Kallanish notes.
The two 33,000 kVA RKEFs are planning to start commercial production on 24 January. The group estimates this will add another 200,000 tonnes/year of ferronickel capacity. The Tsingshan Group plans to realise 1.5 million t/y of capacity for the whole project.
