Truck maker cuts production on low demand estimates
An expected dip in medium-to-heavy truck demand is leading Daimler Trucks North America to scale back its workforce in Cleveland, North Carolina, according to a company statement.
Daimler plans to temporarily lay-off about 900 of the 3,100 workers at the Cleveland Freightliner plant represented by the United Autoworkers labour union, Kallanish understands. The layoffs will begin on 8 January.
