Trade restrictions, weak manufacturing concern BIR ferrous members
Scrap suppliers voiced their concerns over trade restrictions and weak global manufacturing activity curbing trade at Tuesday’s Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) conference in Budapest.
The greatest vulnerability in the scrap trade is the politics today, as the US-China trade war is affecting the whole world and quotas and tariffs are hampering trade, according to Greg Schnitzer of Schnitzer Steel Industries.
