Tokyo Steel sees first price hike since 2014
Japan’s Tokyo Steel increased its domestic ex-works prices by 5-16% on Monday for May deliveries. The hike is the company’s first hike for H-beams, its core product, since January 2014, Kallanish notes.
The rise was prompted by both a stronger overseas steel market and higher scrap prices. Japan’s construction sector is also enjoying a modest comeback.
