Tokyo Steel prices remain stable on Olympic hopes
Japan’s Tokyo Steel hopes that local construction demand can help the Japanese steel market hold steady in the face of falling international prices. It has kept its ex-works prices steady again for May shipments, Kallanish notes.
The EAF steelmakers has again kept its H-beam prices steady at JPY 78,000/tonne ($720/t) for May, while rebar is still priced at JPY 56,000/t. It had kept its list prices flat through March and April.
