Tokyo Steel lowers domestic scrap purchase prices
Tokyo Steel has lowered its domestic procurement prices for Japanese scrap, marking a reverse for prices which have been on an uptrend since November, Kallanish notes.
The leading Japanese EAF mill will cut its procurement price for H2 scrap by JPY 500/tonne ($4.57/t).The company’s H2 scrap domestic purchase price at its Utsunomiya works was lowered to at JPY 37,000/t effective 2 February.
