TimkenSteel moves up on seamless tube
US specialty tube and bar producer TimkenSteel is raising its base prices for seamless mechanical tubing, Kallanish reports.
The $40/short ton increase is effective with shipments beginning 1 April. All applicable surcharges will continue to apply.
Several products unrelated directly to mechanical tube – such as sheet and plate – have recently experienced increases of $30-40/st, which market observers tie to an expected rise in scrap prices.
