Thyssenkrupp Steel, STEAG agree on hydrogen supply
Thyssenkrupp Steel and energy company STEAG have signed a memorandum of understanding for the supply to tk Steel’s site in Duisburg of hydrogen and oxygen from the neighbouring STEAG site in Walsum.
Tk Steel intends to use the hydrogen to achieve significant CO2 reductions in hot metal production, aiming for climate-neutrality by 2045 and to reduce emissions by 30% until 2030.
