Tenaris gets US approval for TMK IPSCO buy

The US Department of Justice has given Luxembourg-based tube producer Tenaris the go-ahead to buy the US tubular assets of Russian steelmaker TMK, Kallanish reports. IPSCO Tubulars will now be operated as a subsidiary of Tenaris. The deal was originally inked in late March for a total consideration of $1.209 billion. IPSCO holds 450,000 tonnes/year of bar capacity, 400,000 tonnes of seamless pipe capacity, and 1 million tonnes of welded pipe capacity in the US.…
