Tata works council disagrees with tk merger plan

The works council of Tata Steel Europe has spoken out against the merger plans with thyssenkrupp Steel on conditions first revealed in March to meet antitrust objections by the European Commission. Although not officially confirmed, insiders suggest that the conditions cover the divestment of two hot-dip galvanizing lines, in Spain and Belgium, and two tin plate lines in Belgium and the UK.
