Tata to close Port Talbot coke ovens early
Tata Steel UK says it will cease operations at its Port Talbot coke ovens on 20 March as a result of “significantly deteriorating operational stability”.
The firm has been forced into an early closure of the units, in operation since 1981, after initially planning to take them offline by the summer.
