Tata Steel achieves record annual steel sales
Tata Steel in India achieved record annual steel sales of 12.13 million tonnes in the fiscal year through March 2018 (FY18), a rise of 11% on-year. This was driven by a 21% increase in sales to the automotive sector, as well export sales that exceeded 1mt for the first time.
The record sales were achieved despite shipments falling -6% on-year in the March quarter to 3mt.
