Taiwanese scrap prices remain strong
The Taiwanese scrap market has continued to rise this week driven by Japanese scrap. Meanwhile, the US scrap market is relatively quiet, waiting for the results of the presidential election.
Scrap offers from the US increased during the week, but the available volume is still limited. HMS 1&2 80:20 container scrap from the US West Coast was offered at $285-290/tonne cfr Taiwan, up another $5/t week-on-week.
