Taiwan CSC’s earnings stabilise in April
Taiwan’s largest steelmaker, China Steel Corporation (CSC), saw April earnings remain relatively stable compared with March, but they were still much lower than a year earlier due to lower steel prices and demand, Kallanish notes.
Monthly carbon steel sales were down just 0.83% month-on-month to 685,588 tonnes, although on-year this was down 17.23%. Four-month sales through April thus came to 2.59 million tonnes, a decrease of 14.89% year-on-year.
