Swiss Steel restarts EAF following fire
The electric arc furnace at Swiss Steel was prepared to resume operations on Wednesday evening, following its outage caused by a fire last weekend.
On Saturday evening, a fire broke out in the roof section of the EAF’s housing, and was extinguished later that same evening in a matter of three hours. The company does not yet give exact reasons for the cause of the fire, which is still under investigation, but excludes external influence or technical reasons…
