Stocking, unofficial exports explain Iran longs demand: ISPA
Iranian apparent long steel consumption soared 36% on-year in the six months through 21 September, or first half of Iran’s calendar year. This is despite the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbating Iran’s construction industry downturn, says the Iranian Steel Producers’ Association (ISPA).
Rebar use surged 41% to 3.92 million tonnes, while sections consumption was up 25% to 564,000t.
